What We Do

We defend South Florida’s waters and ecosystems through research, education, and action. Our team works to hold polluters accountable, advocate for stronger environmental protections, and inspire people to take part in restoring and protecting our waterways.

Partner Communities

We collaborate with residents, schools, local governments, and partner organizations to drive lasting change. Through community science and educational programs, we’re building a movement of water stewards who protect and advocate for their environment.

Our Impact

From restoring coral reefs and advocating for clean water policies, to mobilizing volunteers for coastal cleanups, Miami Waterkeeper’s work has created measurable improvements in water quality and community resilience. Each year, thousands of students, residents, and volunteers take part in protecting South Florida’s most vital resource: clean water.

Education & Engagement

Education is at the heart of what we do. Our Waterkeepers in Training, Junior Ambassador, and Floating Classroom programs inspire the next generation of environmental leaders. By empowering teachers and students with hands-on learning, we foster stewardship that ripples throughout our communities.
